Music is an
integral part of worship. Many scriptures present singing as joyous
and vital part of the church’s worship: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you
richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and
hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God” (Col 3:16).
IDC recognizes that music is essential to worship because it is a vital component of making a
joyful noise to the Lord. The music leaders of IDC conduct worship in a way that honors
God and builds up the church.
The music
ministry of IDC sees itself as a servant to the preached
Word. Before the sermon, singing prepares our hearts to receive the Word. After the sermon, the music ministry assists the congregation in responding to the Word.
There are many opportunities to joining the Music Ministry here at IDC
including but not limited to joining the choir and becoming a member of the
